Tree Planting

The whole school went to South Lake to help plant some trees and bushes so small native animals can move between the high ground and the lake without becoming prey!

Bathers' Beach and the Cuauhtemoc Mexico

Kate's class visited the beach to do some exploring, sketching, gymnastics and sculpting. Then they boarded the Cuauhtemoc Mexico.

Perth Zoo Visit

Fran's class visited the Perth Zoo, as part of their study of animals, in particular, endangered native Australian animals. They took our cheque for $52.05, which we raised by selling mangoes and peaches in the summer, and donated it to the zoo to help with the program they have designed for the Western Swamp Tortoise. The Western Swamp Tortoise was believed to be extinct until a young boy found one in Perth in 1953 and their status is currently critically endangered. To read more about them visit their page on the Perth Zoo website.

Pet Week

At Kerry Street Community School we have Pet Week once a year, when the children bring their pets to school and tell us all about them.

Soccer at Lunch Time

Soccer is a fovourite game at lunch time, along with Aussie rules "Marker's Up", Swedish dodge and play on the fort, cubby and in the sandpit. The older boys, especially, like to play soccer and here are a few photos one of the kids took one lunch time.

Kids at Play

This is a collection of photos, some dating back to 2002, just of kids doing their thing around the school.

Kids at Work

Though it's hard to separate what is work and what is play, these photos, some new and some old, represent kids' work and kids at work at Kerry Street. Hope you enjoy them.
