Community SchoolFriendly Education for Families |
In 2008 some students volunteered to play at the Be Kids Community Fair, supporting children's rights around the world; Stacey did extra drumming workshops with them and they learnt some rhythms to play.
FeesKerry Street is an independent school and relies on student fees to supplement government funding. We deliberately keep fees as low as possible, so the kind of education we are offering is accessible for all families. Fees may be negotiated for people in financial difficulty and it is usually possible to contribute in kind. Fees for 2010 are $310 per term Rates are reduced by half for siblings. Excursion and camp costs are the responsibility of families. Students are asked to provide basic stationery but there is no book list (and no uniforms). Currently we have personal accident insurance for all students which costs $9 per child and covers them 365 days a year anywhere in the world. |
EnrollingIf you are interested in joining our school, what should you do next?
Contact the school and talk with a member of staff. Make a time to visit the school with your child. This will give your family the best idea about what our community school is like. If you love what you see and there is a place available in the relevant class, a free trial week will be suggested. The purpose of the trial is to allow families to see if the school suits them and for the staff to see if the child seems likely to suit the school. We haven't had anyone change their mind yet but it can help to have time to think when making a big decision, like what school to choose. Here are Wylie, Twilight and Tybion, deep in conversation at the end of term picnic, with Mango getting some attention, too. |
| If you would like to make an application to enrol at a future time, you can email Geraldine with your name and contact details and your child's name and birthdate. | Enrolment Form 2010 For students who are enrolling now and need to complete the full form, you can download the form in pdf format, print it, complete it and return it to school. |
