Friendly Education for Families

Kerry Street Policies

We have a comprehensive file of policies, available for everyone to read and reviewed regularly by the school council.

The purpose of having the policies is to enable us to undertake activities with confidence, keep people safe, make it easier and quicker to make decisions, make sure everyone has clear expectations, and to be accountable to outside agencies. They also build on and illustrate how our philosophy and constitution translate into the day to day activities of the school, for example in the Behaviour Management Policy or Food and Nutrition Policy.

If you have any comments on our policies or would like to use parts of them for your own school, please email Kath at kerrystreet@bigpond.com. If you are a member of the school community and would like to see a policy reviewed, talk to a school council member about your ideas. Click on the policy name to view it as a pdf file in Acrobat Reader.

scitech excursion ben

It's fun going on excursions. Tom's class visited Scitech after working on "spy stuff" in term 1, 2006.
Our excursion policy is designed to help keep everyone safe and sane.

healthy food for sale

Our health and nutrition policy is based on our strong desire to encourage healthy eating habits for everyone. So when we are fundraising, we don't sell chocolates! The money we raised in term 1, 2006, went to the Perth Zoo, to help with the work they do with endangered native Australian animals. The children raise funds each term to help a charity of their choice.

fishing at camp

We love going on camp twice a year as a whole school. Everyone is welcome; mums, dads, older and younger siblings and grandparents often come along. It is a traditional and important part of building relationships between all members of the school community.
Here we are fishing at Warnbro Beach.
